Agape - Alan Ooi
Allan Ooi, one of our younger members, Who is serving God with Agapé in Birmingham. Agapé is a missionary organisation working primarily amongst university students helping them to think about God and deeper questions of life. We are pleased to support Allan in our giving and in our prayers.
Catherine is serving God in Europe with UFM, working primarily with women.
Joy MacRae lives in the far east of Russia, and provides practical care for children, young people and those with addictions.
The Trust provides practical help and support for those in need and we are pleased to support the Trust with a retiring offering each year.
We take part along with the other churches in Uddingston in Christian Aid week each May.
The Sunday School is pleased to sponsor two children who live in the Trust’s Namugongo children’s home in Uganda.
One of our members is a rep for France Mission, and hosts a monthly prayer meeting, interceding for the needs of France.
One of our church members is a regular volunteer; we have a food bin for the Mission at the front door of the church and are pleased to support the Mission at our Harvest service, through gifts at Christmas, and by supporting practically the work of the Night Shelter each winter.
Our Sunday School supports the work of Mission Aviation Fellowship, who enable thousands of aid, relief and mission projects in remote areas.
We remember the ministry of Open Doors and support in prayer our brothers and sisters in the persecuted church.
To mark our 150th anniversary we were pleased to send a gift to OM in order to plant a church among the Dalit people in India. The church is now open for business!
As a church we have registered prayer for local schools, and are pleased to serve our local schools: we particularly remember local schools in prayer at the Community Prayer Time each month.
Our annual shoebox appeal enables us to support the work of Samaritan’s Purse in distributing gifts to children in the world’s poorest areas.
Sat7 broadcast Christian satellite television programmes across the Middle East.
We are pleased to support SU Scotland in prayer, in sponsoring local children to attend SU Holidays, and also practically by providing volunteers who lead SU Groups in our local schools and serve annually on camp and mission teams.
